Joan crowns a ball king

The honeymoon of the “Golden Bachelorette” is over – without wanting to offend the still radiant first Bachelorette from last year, Joan Vassos.

While TV viewers were still basking in the glow of last week's joyous first episode of “Golden Bachelorette,” in which 24 contestants descended on the Bachelor Mansion to vie for Vassos, 61, disturbing news from the real world emerged Friday. Legal documents surfaced revealing a restraining order against contestant Gil Ramirez, 60, who had been accusing him of emotional harassment since May. The restraining order was lifted following a hearing in July due to “lack of prosecution,” court documents show.

The show's producers “further cut” Ramirez's “already limited screen time” after learning of the lawsuit, which came between background checks and the filming of “Golden Bachelorette” over the summer, a person familiar with the situation said Friday but was not authorized to speak publicly about it.
