Horrific accident causes massive delays in Hudson Valley, New York

At least one person has reportedly died in a violent wrong-way crash between a car and a semi-trailer truck. There are currently delays in the morning rush hour.

At the time of this writing, horrific scenes are unfolding in Orange County.

According to 511 NY, as of 5:30 a.m., all six lanes of Route 17 at Exit 122A – Fletcher Street (Goshen), near I-84, were closed due to a “fatal accident investigation.”

Police have not yet commented, but reports say the accident may have been caused during a police chase when a car was traveling the wrong way eastbound on Route 17 in the westbound lanes.

Unconfirmed fatal accident in Orange County, New York

Due to the accident, police were forced to close both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 17.

The New York State Police have not yet commented on the accident. But reports from 511 NY and others speak of a “fatal accident” caused by a wrong-way driver.
