Man arrested after threatening woman with gun, police say

A 23-year-old Albany man was arrested Wednesday after police say he threatened a woman with a gun.

On Wednesday, September 25, at 10:35 a.m., Albany Police responded to a home in the 200 block of South Pearl Street where they were looking for an armed man. Upon arrival, officers learned that Teshawn Conley was involved in a physical altercation with a woman during which he threatened her with a handgun. A child was in the home during the incident. No injuries to the child were reported, but police stated that the victim sustained injuries to his body.

According to police, Conley was still at the scene and was taken into custody.

Detectives from the Albany Police Department's Children and Families Division subsequently searched the home in the 200 block of South Pearl Street and reportedly seized two illegal handguns.

Conley was charged with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest dated May 14, 2024, from the Albany City Criminal Court for third-degree assault arising from a separate incident.

Conley was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail on $40,000 bail.
