Lincoln man charged with child sexual abuse, now also with witness tampering

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – Additional charges are pending against a Lincoln man accused of sexually assaulting two girls.

On Wednesday, prosecutors charged 53-year-old Armando Medrano with first-degree sexual abuse of a child and witness tampering.

In July, he was charged with first- and third-degree sexual abuse of a child.

According to court documents, Medrano began abusing an 11-year-old girl in 2008.

The girl told police that she had been sexually abused approximately four times a week over the course of three years.

According to an affidavit, Medrano also attacked a 14-year-old girl in 2017.

Medrano was arrested in July and is in jail on $2 million bail.

A new court document says he tampered with a witness on August 13. The document does not provide details of the allegations.

Medrano's preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 29.
