Legendary rock drummer cancels the last two shows of his tour due to illness

Sorry, Philadelphia-area Beatlemaniacs. You won't be able to see Ringo Starr in concert any time soon.

The former Beatle announced on social media that he had to cancel the last two stops of his current tour due to illness.

“Today, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band announced that due to illness they have unfortunately had to cancel their upcoming final two shows, including tonight's performance at the TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia, PA and tomorrow at Radio City Music Hall in New York City,” said a statement on Starr's Instagram account.

“Ringo has caught a cold and after consulting a doctor he has been advised to cancel the remaining two shows and rest,” it said.

The post also said that ticket holders for both shows will be notified via email and automatically refunded. They can also contact their point of purchase for a refund.

Starr, 84, released his latest album, “Crooked Boy,” in April. He is one of only two of the four remaining Beatles, the other being Paul McCartney. John Lennon was murdered in 1980 and George Harrison died in 2001.
