NMA – Premier League GW-6 FPL Player Tips

Man City's late comeback against Arsenal was the highlight of last week, but there were many other standout performances.

A total of 30 goals were scored in GW-5 and many popular FPL players contributed to the goal fest. Let's take a look at some players who were and will continue to be valuable to FPL managers:

goalkeeper

Mark Flekken (£4.5 million, Brentford against West Ham)

Brentford goalkeeper Flekken is available at a good price and has been a fantastic choice for fantasy managers this season. Although Flekken has yet to keep a clean sheet this season, his save points make him a standout option at just 4.5 million. Despite facing a barrage of shots, his impressive save rate (5.6 save points per game) has made him a reliable source of points. With a cheap game plan, Flekken is a strong contender for your fantasy team. Priced at just £4.6, Chelsea's goalkeeper is just a touch more expensive. Robert Sanchez is also worth a look.

David Raya (£5.6 million, arsenal against Leicester)

Raya is the highest-earning goalkeeper in FPL this season. Despite becoming the most expensive goalkeeper in the game at 5.6 million, he still represents good value for money. Not only does he keep clean games, but his impressive record (23 saves in 5 games) has contributed significantly to his points tally. With the new bonus points system, Raya's ability to earn bonus points in clean sheets games becomes even more attractive. His performance, especially in the Gunners' three clean sheets, highlights his reliability and makes him worth his high price tag.

defender

Trent Alexander Arnold (£7.1m, Wolves vs. Liverpool)

Pool's attacking fullback has been a valuable player this season and has already picked up 32 points. His attacking ability is undeniable, having created four big chances. With Wolves struggling to make much of an impact, Trent has enough potential to break the deadlock and potentially pick up points without conceding as well.

~

Gabriel Magalhães (£6.1 million, arsenal against Leicester)

Gabriel has been a reliable FPL player, scoring in his last two games and has scored 36 points this season. His xG of 1.44 (fourth highest among defenders) shows he is a consistent threat in the box. His heading ability has proven to be a deadly combination, even against strong defences like Man City's.

~

Josko Gvardiol (£6.0m, Newcastle vs. Manchester City)

The fourth most expensive defender in FPL, the left-back/centre-back looks to have his starting place secured. Lewis (£4.7m) would be a riskier option with Walker's return and a deep gap in defensive midfield that has existed since Rodri's injury. Gvardiol's ability to go forward and play the inverted role gives him the opportunity to either assist or put the ball in the net and he has the potential to keep a clean sheet. Caveat: Having earned 2, 2, 1, 1 over the last four gameweeks, Gvardiol is the most-disposed defender in FPL this week (1.4m disposals), so his price may have dropped by the time you read this.

Midfielder

Morgan Rogers (£5.2m, Ipswich vs. Aston Villa)

Rogers' recent performance, a 10-point haul, has justified the faith many managers have in him. Although Villa have a demanding fixture list ahead of them, his consistent playing time and attacking potential make him a solid option.

~

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.2 million, Brentford against West Ham)

Mbeumo has made an impressive start to the season. In the absence of Ivan Toney and following Wissa's injury, Mbeumo has emerged as Brentford's talisman and likely penalty taker. His average xG of 0.3 per 90 minutes and 1.6 shots from the box underline his attacking strength. In addition, his ability to create chances (0.8 Big Chance Created/90 minutes) ranks him among the best midfielders in the league.

~

Luis Diaz (£7.9m, Wolves vs. Liverpool)

Diaz leads the GW-5 table with 16 points and two goals. The Colombian striker shot four times, all on target, and had three “big chances”. Given his price and form, he is becoming an indispensable player.

~

Bukayo Saka (£10.0 million, arsenal against Leicester)

Saka has performed consistently this season, starting every game and providing an assist in each one. His ability to create chances is impressive: 1.16 per 90 minutes, the second highest among midfielders. In addition, his average of 2.31 shots from the box per 90 minutes also ranks near the top of the overall xGI list. It's always good to have the young England international in the squad.

~

Cole Palmer (£10.6 million, Chelsea against Brighton)

Palmer, a high-priced option at 10.6m, has shown his talent again this season. Although he has the potential to have a breakthrough season, his price can make it difficult to integrate him into your squad without compromising the structure of your team. However, if your squad doesn't have Haaland, Palmer is one of the ways to invest the money to make up for some lost points.

Forward

Dominic Solanke (£7.5 million, Man United vs. Spores)

With an attractive fixture list that includes Brighton, West Ham and this week's game against Man United, Tottenham's attackers could be in for a successful spell. Solanke has been a consistent goal threat, averaging 0.71 xG per 90 minutes and taking nine shots from inside the box.

~

Nicholas Jackson (£7.7 million, Chelsea against Brighton)

Jackson has been a standout striker this season, averaging 0.8 xG per 90 minutes. His recent performance against West Ham with two goals and an assist shows he has improved from last season. If Chelsea's team chemistry is right, Jackson can continue to be a prolific goalscorer.

~

Erling Haaland (£15.3m, Newcastle vs. Manchester City)

Haaland continues to dominate the league. He is in exceptional form with 63 points (12.6 ppg on average) from 10 goals. His 19 shots on goal from 26 attempts show his precision in finishing.
