Driver injured after accident with semi-trailer on Maine Turnpike

One person was injured early Thursday morning when a tractor-trailer crashed on the Maine Turnpike in Kennebunk.

The driver was injured and taken to the hospital, Kennebunk Fire-Rescue said.

Early morning crash

The accident occurred around 4:20 a.m. near the Kennebunk and Wells exits on the Maine Turnpike.

Fuel and oil pollution

The Kennebunk Fire Department said, “Crews were working to contain the fuel and oil spill.” Traffic in the area was impacted and delays were expected.

Truck with food

The semi-trailer was transporting food. The accident investigation is ongoing.
