Sheriff: 2 suspects allegedly stole weapon of deceased victim in fatal accident

TUNICA COUNTY, Mississippi (WMC) – The Tunica County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged two suspects with stealing a gun from a deceased victim of a fatal traffic accident.

On September 23, the Tunica County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Casino Strip Extended and Kirby Road in Robinsonville, MS.

Upon arrival, deputies and emergency responders found that both vehicles had significant damage.

Due to the severity of this accident, the drivers of both vehicles involved tragically did not survive.

The victims were identified as Nicholas Paul Stafford, 29, of Tate County, MS, and Ruby Gene Watney, 36, of Tate County, MS.

During the investigation it was discovered that a firearm had been stolen at the scene of the accident.

Jonathan Parr, 59, of Hernando, MS, and Christina Brumback, 42, of Hernando, MS, were arrested and booked into the Tunica County Jail.

Parr is charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a stolen firearm as a felon; Brumback is charged with accessory after the fact.
