Turki Alalshikh knows who Daniel Dubois should fight next

Turki Alalshikh is one of the most influential men in boxing today.

The man behind Riyadh Season has made some of the biggest fights possible, from the undisputed heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk to the upcoming October 12th light heavyweight “Four Crowns” showdown between Artur Beterbiev and Dimitri Bivol, and a host of other big cards like the Matchroom vs. Queensberry 5 vs. 5.

Alalshikh's latest appearance was the first event of the Riyadh Season in the UK. It took place at Wembley Stadium and featured a main event between Anthony Joshua and new IBF world champion Daniel Dubois. Dubois won by fifth-round stoppage, raising the question of what's next for the 34-year-old “AJ”.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, promoter Eddie Hearn was asked if there was a rematch clause for the fight and explained the situation.

“Yes, there is. Rematch clauses come in many different forms. We have separate contracts. Normally we would have a contract with Frank Warren and Daniel Dubois. In this case, we have a fight with Riyadh Season, another fight with 'AJ' and one of our options is to fight Daniel Dubois. His Excellency will look after Frank and Daniel and make sure that works out.”

Hearn then confirmed that Alalshikh also wanted a rematch for both men.

“His Excellency wants the rematch. 'AJ' will always want the rematch because he is a fighter and Daniel Dubois is also up for the rematch, it is the biggest fight for him and they will want it. They just stopped him.”

It is not known exactly when the second part will take place, as Joshua will need time to recover from his exhausting night in the ring.
