Melania Trump gave her first interview in two years to promote her revealing memoirs after a conspicuous absence from her husband Donald Trump's election campaign.

The former First Lady spoke with Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt for a rare interview that aired Thursday morning.

Melania spoke about the two assassination attempts on her husband, the FBI's search of her closets during the Mar-a-Lago raid in 2022, and why she avoided the spotlight during key moments of the former president's campaign.

The interview came after Kamala Harris sharply criticized Trump's approach to economic policy, calling him “not serious” in her first one-on-one interview with a television network since being nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate.

The vice president spoke with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday night after delivering a major economic keynote speech in Pittsburgh, advocating for child tax credits, down payment assistance and small business incentives.

“He's not serious about his stance on some of these issues,” Harris said of Trump's economic plans.

“And you have to be serious and have a plan, a real plan that is not just some talking point that ends with a shout out at a political rally.”

ICYMI: Secret Service agent accused of sexually harassing Kamala Harris staffer in hotel room

The alleged incident occurred last week as a team of agents and Harris staff conducted preliminary planning and security work for a Sept. 20 event in Wisconsin that was later canceled, RealClearPolitics reports, citing four unnamed sources close to the Secret Service.

The agent in question and the Harris staff reportedly ate and drank together at a local restaurant and then returned to the staff member's room.

There, the agent is said to have forced himself on the woman and groped her. Others are said to have witnessed the incident. Those present in the room are said to have thrown the agent into the hallway, where he was allegedly so drunk that he lost consciousness.

Barron and Melania’s mother had a “relationship like no other”

Barron Trump and his maternal grandmother had “a unique relationship,” Melania said.

The former first lady said her mother, Amalija Knavs, played an important role in Barron's upbringing – especially when Melania took on White House duties during Donald Trump's first term.

“She [Knavs] moved here to the United States to be near him [Barron] and raise him in a way,” Melania said.

“It's almost like she was a second mother, especially because of my schedule in the White House and how busy I was. And they had an incredible bond. She and Barron, it was a relationship like no other.”

“Barron’s life is very different from that of other 18-year-olds and I am proud of him,” says Melania

Melania Trump spoke out about the moment her only son – and Trump's youngest child – Barron Trump arrived at New York University's Stern Business School earlier this month to begin his college life.

“I raised Baron as his own person and gave him his own yeses and nos. I respect that it was his choice to come here, that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that,” she said of her 18-year-old son.

“He is an incredible young man. I am very proud of what he has accomplished, his strength, his intelligence, his knowledge, his kindness. He is admirable and enjoying his time in college.”

She concluded, “I hope he has a great experience because his life is very different from that of all the other 18 and 19 year old kids.”

Melania and Donald Trump’s children had “different views”

In her memoir of the same name, Melania Trump revealed that she did not always agree with Donald Trump's four children from existing marriages.

The former First Lady also gave some advice to blended families.

“Everyone has control over themselves. I have no control over my husband. I have no control over his children. I don't even have control over my child,” Melania said.

“He is his own person, and we all have yeses and noes, and we are all individuals. If you live your life with respect and love, that is better.”

Melania refused to give Donald Trump her number before finally going on the first date

Melania Trump initially refused to give her current husband Donald Trump her number after their first meeting at a KitKat Club party.

It was only later, when Melania returned home from a modeling shoot in the Caribbean, that she decided to pick up the phone, as her memoirs reveal.

Melania then spoke about the couple’s first date.

“So he linked his business with the takeover [me] on the first date,” she said.

“And it was very nice because we were alone in the car for an hour, an hour and a half, just the two of us, and there was no other noise, no other people, because he was already well-known and a celebrity at that time.”

She continued: “It was really nice to be just the two of us.”

When asked if she fell in love at that moment, she replied: “It was a connection. It was a connection.”

Melania remembers Barron's childhood and gives advice to mothers in the USA

As a picture of Barron Trump as a toddler appeared on the screen, Melania Trump offered some advice to mothers across America.

“I think it's very important that we show our children that we work too, to give them an example of what life is like,” she said.

“That they see us and that we are productive, that we have an idea, that ideas come to life. That's how I showed it to Barron.”

Melania talks about Harris' bid as a Democrat

“The country is suffering because people are not able to buy the usual things for their families. There are wars all over the world,” she began her scathing criticism of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Soldiers are dying. They died under [the Biden] administration due to weak leadership.”

Melania continued: “The border is open and dangerous. A lot of fentanyl is coming in and killing our youth.”

“The economy … is really not great. Inflation is high, and if we compare these four years under this administration to the four years under my husband as commander in chief, he led the country through peace, through strength, and the border was more secure than it had ever been.”
