Multiple people injured in crash involving tractor-trailer and NH DOT truck – Boston 25 News

CAMPTON, NH — Several people were injured in an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a New Hampshire Department of Transportation truck.

On September 25 at approximately 12:01 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash on I-93 southbound in Campton near mile marker 86.6.

When police arrived, they found two damaged vehicles on the median: a tractor-trailer and a New Hampshire Department of Transportation truck.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 1997 Peterbilt semi-trailer truck was traveling south on I-93 and passed through an active construction zone where a New Hampshire Department of Transportation was located and the lane was closed.

As the tractor-trailer driver drove through the construction zone, the driver of a New Hampshire Department of Transportation Ford F450 dump truck failed to yield the right of way and pulled out of the closed lane in front of the tractor-trailer, state police said. The driver of the F450 dump truck struck the tractor-trailer, causing both vehicles to run off the road and into the median.

The driver and passenger of the DOT truck and the driver of the tractor-trailer were taken to a hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Parts of I-93 were closed in the area of the accident for about 5 ½ hours for the investigation and cleanup, but have since reopened.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Jacob Thomas at 603-846-3333 or via email at [email protected].
