Documentary series about Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will air on Netflix before the fight

When Netflix announced earlier this year that it would enter live boxing and broadcast a fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, the company didn't realize it would take this long.

The fight was originally scheduled to take place on July 20, but was postponed to November due to a stomach ulcer suffered by former heavyweight champion Tyson.

However, the move means more time to follow the couple for a documentary series leading up to the event.

The streamer has announced that it will be broadcast Countdown: Paul vs. Tysona three-part follow-up documentary on November 7 before the fight airs live at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, November 15. The first two episodes will air that evening, followed by the third episode on November 12.

The documentary series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Paul and Tyson's respective training camps leading up to the event, as well as the preparations for one of the most highly anticipated women's fights in history, the rematch between undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano.

Paul began his boxing career in 2018 with a fight against Deji Olatunji and made his professional debut in 2020 against AnEsonGib. In his ten professional fights against the likes of Ryan Bourland, Andre August and Nate Diaz, he has won nine and lost only once, by split decision to Tommy Fury.

The fight is organized by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), founded by Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.

Tyson is the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and one of the most legendary boxers in the world with a win record of 50-6. His last professional fight was against Kevin McBride in 2005 and in 2020 he fought in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr.

The series is produced by EverWonder Studio, executive produced by Ian Orefice and Michael Antinoro, and directed by Tim Mullen and Jackie Decker.
