Another drug raid in the former Walmart building in Humboldt

PRESS RELEASE FROM WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE – 28TH, 29TH AND 30TH DISTRICT:

On 09/25/2024, at approximately 8:15 a.m., agents from the 28th, 29th, and both divisions of the 30th Precinct, along with agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the United States Postal Inspection Service, with assistance from the Humboldt Police Department, executed a drug search warrant for the second time in just over a year at the old Walmart building in the 2500 block of North Central Ave. in Humboldt.

During the search, agents seized a steroid lab, suspected finished steroids, tianeptine (a synthetically manufactured drug that mimics opioids and is also known as Zsa Zsa Red. Tianeptine is a Schedule II controlled substance), marijuana, several pills, 6 weapons, 6 vehicles, and suspected $21,496.00 in drug proceeds.

A man who was out on bail on the previous warrant was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail to await arraignment on the following charges: Possession of a Schedule II, III and IV controlled substance with intent to sell, Manufacturing of a Schedule III controlled substance, Maintaining a drug location, Possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous crime and Possession of drug paraphernalia for a serious crime.

Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter said, “These agents have worked together as a team for months to achieve today's outcome, and I am more than pleased with them.” This is an ongoing investigation, and more results are expected in the coming days/weeks, Carter added.

The Office of the Attorney General of the 28th Judicial DistrictFrederick Agee is the prosecutor in this case and is working with agents on both the old and new cases and advising on ongoing investigations.
