Three people arrested in major drug raid; over 1,000 bags of fentanyl seized

An anti-drug task force carried out a raid on Wednesday in which three men were arrested for drug trafficking.

Following a two-month investigation, the Attorney General's Office, the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office Drug Task Force, and the Kingston Police Department, with assistance from the Wilkes-Barre, Edwardsville, and Plymouth City Police Departments, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Hazleton Special Response Team, executed search warrants at the Hilltop Apartments of Edwardsville on Jackson Street in Edwardsville and at a residence on Gardner Street in Plymouth County.

Three men were arrested and charged.

Wendell K. Freeman Jr., age 30, was charged with possession of fentanyl, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and marijuana with intent to resell – 6 felony counts.

Armand K. Hobson, 27, was charged with possession of fentanyl, marijuana and synthetic marijuana with the intent to resell.

Akilees Hobson, 26, was charged with possession of fentanyl, crack cocaine and synthetic marijuana with the intent to resell.

Detectives and police seized over 1,000 bags of fentanyl as well as large quantities of crack cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, powder cocaine and ecstasy.

Officers also seized ammunition and cash valued at over $15,000.

Freeman, Hobson and Hobson were remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. All three were denied bail.
