Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic has been accused of biting an opponent during the goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship last Sunday.

Montenegrin international Osmajic is alleged to have bitten Rovers defender Owen Beck, who was sent off for kicking Duane Holmes in the same incident towards the end of the game at Deepdale.

An FA spokesman said: “Charges have been brought against Milutin Osmajic following Preston North End’s EFL Championship match against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday 22 September.

“The striker is accused of having committed an act of violence by biting an opponent in the 87th minute.

“Milutin Osmajic has until Monday, September 30, to respond.”

Beck, on loan at Ewood Park from Liverpool, was sent off for a swipe at Holmes following a foul by Yuki Ohashi on Osmajic. Osmajic then jumped up, grabbed Beck and pushed him away, driving his head into the back of the full-back's neck.

Blackburn head coach John Eustace said in his post-match press conference: “(Beck) has a big bite mark on his neck. He showed it to all the lads. He's a bit quiet, a bit agitated.”

In the heated previous match, Preston's Sam Greenwood was sent off for a challenge on Rovers' Lewis Baker.
