Milwaukee police pursue stolen vehicle, 2 people arrested after accident

MILWAUKEE – Two people were arrested following a police chase and an accident on Wednesday, September 25.

According to Milwaukee police, officers saw a wanted person in a vehicle near Ahmedi and Layton around 8:24 p.m.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and a chase began.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle struck a pole and the subjects exited the vehicle and fled near 25th and Galena.

A 33-year-old and a 32-year-old man were arrested.

According to police, the vehicle was stolen and suspected illegal drugs were seized.

Criminal charges will be forwarded to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

During the chase, an MPD trooper collided with an uninvolved vehicle near the corner of 20th and Galena.

Separate crash

Police also stated that during the chase, a squad responding to the area was involved in a crash involving a vehicle near the corner of 20th and Galena. The vehicle was not involved in the chase.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
