2 people hospitalized after shooting, officials say

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WOLO)– Richland County officials said two people were hospitalized following a shooting on Longtown Road.

Officers said they were called to apartments at 508 Longtown Road shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, for a shooting report.

When officers arrived at the scene, two men were lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Emergency services also arrived at the scene and took both people to a local hospital for treatment.

According to RCSD, officers determined that the two people were acquaintances who were involved in an argument that resulted in physical violence.

When the argument turned physical, the first man pulled out a gun and began shooting at the second man.

Then the second man also took out a gun and started shooting at the first man. Both men suffered gunshot wounds.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the incident and expects charges to be filed.
