Gregory Miles, the suspect in the shooting at a Broomfield apartment, has been charged with murder

The suspect in a fatal hostage-taking and shooting earlier this month at the Arista Flats apartment complex in Broomfield has been charged with more than 20 crimes, including first-degree murder.

Gregory Miles, 34, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, 18 counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and a sentencing enhancement for a crime of violence, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office.

Miles is accused of taking Aisha Quest – a woman he lived with in Arista Flats – hostage and killing her during the Sept. 12 altercation at the complex, prosecutors said Thursday. Officials have not yet specified the nature of their relationship.
