Deputy is accused of using a fake Facebook profile to harass the elementary school teacher he was dating

JAY COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA/Gray News) – A former sheriff's deputy is accused of using an investigative Facebook page to harass a woman he once dated.

According to an Indiana State Patrol affidavit, Derek Bogenschutz, 36, is accused of using a Facebook account under the name “Katie Morgan” to harass an elementary school teacher he once dated.

Bogenschutz, previously represented the elementary school as a part-time resource officer.

He reportedly contacted the teacher through the fake Facebook profile and claimed the woman's boyfriend was “playing” them both, court records show.

Bogenschutz is also accused of sending screenshots of conversations in which the boyfriend and “Katie” appeared to argue about him talking to other women.

He is accused of identity fraud.
