LISTENING LESSON

SAN ARDO – Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will host a community listening session on Thursday, September 26 in San Ardo. The meeting will be held at San Ardo Elementary School, 32428 Center St., at 5:30 p.m. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community and county government.


SALINAS AIRSHOW

SALINAS – The 43rd annual California International Airshow will be held September 27-29 at Salinas Airport, offering an exciting program for aviation enthusiasts. The show stars the USAF Thunderbirds and the Patriots Jet Team, as well as a number of high-profile civilian and military performers, promising an unforgettable spectacle that includes the thrilling “Wall of Fire.” On the ground, guests can view impressive military aircraft such as the C-5M Super Galaxy, C-17, C-130J, AC-130J Ghostwriter and the Navy's F/A-18 Super Hornet. Families will enjoy additional attractions this year: an expanded Chevron STEM Village and Carl's Jr. Kids Zone offer exciting and educational activities for all ages. New to the program is Lucha Libre Wrestling, which provides entertainment for children and adults alike. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight demonstrations begin at approximately 11:45 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. A clear baggage policy applies for the safety and convenience of all participants. The festivities begin Friday evening at 5 p.m. with Maverick's Lounge, a culinary extravaganza featuring over 25 chefs, a mini air show and a spectacular fireworks display. COFFEE WITH A COP

SOLEDAD – The Soledad Police Department invites the community to attend the free “Coffee with a Cop” event on Tuesday, October 1st at 10 a.m., directly in front of the police station at 236 Main St. The police department is partnering with Soledad Starbucks together to provide coffee during the event, which brings neighbors and officials together with the goal of building trust in the community.

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City.
