The Army Black Knights take on the Temple Owls in an American Conference game on Thursday night. Army is 3-0 this season with wins over Lehigh, FAU and Rice. It's a great start for the Black Knights in their 11th season under head coach Jeff Monken, who had relative success at Army but hasn't been to a bowl game since 2021. With a win in this game, Army would be significantly closer to a bowl. Temple is 1-3 this year with losses to Oklahoma, Navy and Coastal Carolina. They are coming off a 45-29 win over Utah State at home last week. This is the Owl's third season under head coach Stan Drayton, who played three to nine consecutive seasons at Temple. The Owls would like to compete for conference titles in the future, but for now they would settle for a bowl game appearance, which they haven't had since 2019. Temple is looking for a win in this game to get their season back on track and build on the momentum from last week.

They have the second-best rushing offense in the country, which is not unusual for Army, which has had a top-10 rushing offense since 2016. Unfortunately for the Black Knights, the rushing offense hasn't produced any wins. They have only had one season with more than 6 wins in the last 4 years. Their defense has put up decent numbers, but their opponents have been lackluster at best, which is the case again this week. Temple is averaging just 332 yards and 19.8 points per game this year. They have played against better opponents than Army, but they haven't shown anything impressive in those games. The Owls are 2-8 and 4-6 against the spread in their last 10 games. Army may not have played any impressive teams so far, but Temple isn't that impressive either and they're 3-0 against the spread. The Black Knights' average margin of victory in these games is 25 points, which is much higher than the margin in this game. They are also 7-3 and 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games. For my best bet between Army and Temple, I have the Black Knights winning by at least two touchdowns.
