Richard Simmons' housekeeper wants to become co-executor of his estate

Richard Simmons' housekeeper of 35 years is asking a judge to make her co-executor of the late fitness legend's estate, claiming his brother Leonard cheated her out of the role.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles, Teresa Reveles Muro alleges that Leonard Simmons, aka Lenny, and his wife Cathy took advantage of her when she was “at her most vulnerable” and convinced her to turn down the position as co-author-trustee in the days following Simmons' death, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Reves Muro claims Leonard and Cathy took her to the office of the lawyers who managed Simmons' trust after all three viewed Simmons' body following his death in July. In her filing, Reveles Muro also claims that she signed a document stating that she wanted to decline the role of co-trustee, but emphasizes that she did not know what she was signing and that she was grieving over it.

The late aerobics guru's partner says she felt pressured to sign the documents because Leonard and Cathy “told her that any errors in the paperwork could jeopardize her inheritance rights under the trust,” a report says from TMZ.

Reves Muro claims she later received a letter saying she would no longer have “much say” in the administration of Simmons' estate.

According to Reveles Muro, no one explained to her what giving up the co-trustee role would mean or advised her to speak to a lawyer about the matter.

After hiring a lawyer, she now wants to become full co-executor of Simmons' estate alongside his brother and reportedly claims she is best suited to carry out Simmons' final wishes.

Lawyers for Reveles Muro say they have contacted the law firm managing Simmons' trust several times since the star's death but have not yet received a “concrete explanation as to why Leonard is unwilling to accept Muro's rejection.” revoked and let her serve as co-trustee. “Richard's wishes,” according to TMZ.

Reveles Muro's petition asks that Leonard be barred from selling any of the late fitness icon's assets or exploiting his name, image and likeness until the judge issues a ruling in the case.

Simmons died July 13 after falling in his bathroom the night before on his 76th birthday. Despite Reveles Muro's concerns, Simmons reportedly refused to seek medical attention. The next morning she found him dead on the floor next to his bed.

A month later, Leonard announced that his brother had died from “complications from recent falls and heart disease.”

Shortly after Simmons' funeral, Reveles Muro spoke about his death in an emotional interview.

“I can't stop crying. “I still can’t believe what happened,” she told People.

“I want to celebrate Richard. He died happy.”

At the time, Leonard Reveles praised Muro, telling People, “Teresa was extremely loyal and trustworthy.”

“She loved my brother and he loved her,” he added. “We are blessed to have Teresa in our lives.”
