I could have “fixed” Cowboys' D if they would “raise” money

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn left Dallas to take the head coaching job with the Washington Commanders in the offseason. In 2024, the Cowboys will be one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

According to a former NFL head coach, it didn't have to be this way.

“I could have fixed that [the Cowboys’ defense] in a New York minute,” Rex Ryan told ESPN’s DiPietro and Rothenberg. “But other than that, they couldn’t raise the money or I would have been there.”

Ryan hasn't coached in the NFL since he was head coach of the Buffalo Bills from 2015-16, but an offseason report suggested the Cowboys had interviewed the now-ESPN analyst for their defensive coordinator job.
