The Doctor Odyssey cast reveals whether they've ever been on a cruise

ABC's new drama Doctor Odyssey takes place on a cruise ship – but how many of the show's cast actually set sail on the high seas?

Us weekly asked Joshua Jackson, Phillipa Soo and other stars of the series about their cruise ship during the red carpet premiere of Doctor Odyssey in Los Angeles on September 18th. While many of them were willing to travel across the salty deep in the future, most had never been on a cruise.

Jackson, who plays the ship's doctor Max Bankman, said he hasn't personally been on a cruise, but Paris Barclaywho directed Doctor Odysseyis apparently a big fan of big ships.

“Paris is the cruise guy,” Jackson, 46, said exclusively Us. “He’s the one.”

Joshua Jackson

Although the Canadian native has not yet been on a cruise, he has completed his sea voyages on other ships. “I’ve been on boats a few times,” he explained. “I love my part of the world, the Strait of Georgia and the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington and British Columbia. I think a big cruise ship isn't really for me [thing].”

Stephanie Shepherd

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians Alum, guest star in one episode, last took a cruise as a child. “I’m not a crusader,” she said Us. “I have only taken one cruise in my life, when I was a child with my mother. I would take one Ryan Murphy Cruise. We would definitely go on a cruise. I feel like we're doing Greece, hopping around, maybe there too. We have a good time wherever we go.”

Chord Overstreet

Like Shepherd, the Joy Alum hasn't gone on a cruise since he was a child. “But my brother is obsessed with going on cruises,” he said, adding that if he were to go now, he would go “wherever I can hop around the most in warm weather, so probably the Caribbean.”

Phillipa Soo

The Broadway star who plays nurse Avery Morgan has “never” been on a cruise. “I just haven’t found myself on one yet,” she explained. “I’ve been on boats, but never on a cruise where I spent the night there.”

If the sea ever calls her, she has one goal in mind: “Someone once told me I should take a cruise along the coast of France. My parents did it and it was a bike ride and a cruise. You put all your stuff on the boat and then cycle along the coast stopping at the various ports after your long day of cycling and your stuff is on the boat and it follows you along the coast. That sounds like a lot of fun. I mean, I might have to train for it. I feel like I’m not in the right frame of mind for it right now, but it would be really fun.”

Sean Teale

Teale, who appears as nurse Tristan Silva, has “never” set foot on a cruise ship – and Doctor Odyssey didn't convince him to book a cabin. “I don’t know if it makes me want to do one,” he joked. “It’s hectic. These cruises are stressful. If I wanted to go on a cruise, it would be the Odyssey. I say that much. It’s a special boat.”
