UPDATE 8:00 p.m. – A St. Cloud man was arrested in connection with a road rage shooting on Florida's Turnpike north of Osceola Parkway Thursday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol reports Jorge Luis De Jesus Carrasquillo, 35, was arrested and charged attempted aggravated murder, discharging a firearm directly from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting early Thursday morning when a man driving a Tesla said he and his car were shot on the northbound Florida Turnpike near the State Road 417 interchange leaving Osceola County . Police are asking the public for help in solving the shooting.

FHP said it was notified of the shooting around 6:30 a.m. The 33-year-old male victim discovered his blue Tesla Model Y had been struck by gunfire – and then realized he had been shot in the right leg.

Officers said that at the time of the shooting, a gray or silver Volkswagen hatchback was involved in a traffic accident with the victim. Two bullet holes were discovered on the driver's door of the victim's vehicle. No other identifying information was provided about the suspect vehicle or driver.
