Central Florida man arrested after road rage shooting in Orlando

A Saint Cloud man was arrested Thursday following a shooting on the Florida Turnpike, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near Exit 417 in Orlando.

According to a news release, the victim, a 33-year-old man, discovered that his Tesla had been struck by gunfire and then discovered that he had been shot in the right leg.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

Two bullet holes were discovered on the driver's door of the victim's vehicle.

Investigators said that at the time of the shooting, a gray or silver Volkswagen hatchback was involved in a traffic accident with the victim.

Officers arrested 35-year-old Jorge Luis De Jesus Carrasquillo and charged him with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm directly from a car.

De Jesus Carrasquillo was booked into the Orange County Jail.
