What is the Google Doodle today? How to Play Popcorn Game

Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop is the name of the popcorn on Wednesday when the global Google Doodle introduces the ever-popular treat.

The interactive doodle will go live in the US on Wednesday at 12pm ET, showcasing the classic treat in a fun game.

Popcorn is a popular treat in the USA. According to the US Census Bureau, Americans consume about 14 billion liters of popcorn per year. That's an average of about 43 liters per person nationwide.

In addition to the fun popcorn art, users can also play a game related to popcorn. Kernels from all over the world can compete against each other with one goal: not to get popped.

The Doodle is available for a limited time and runs until Thursday, September 26th at 11:59 p.m. ET.

How do I play the Popcorn Google Doodle?

For users who want to be the last kernel standing, accessing the game is easy: clicking on the doodle will launch the game. Once inside, people can choose whether to play alone or invite friends, in what Google calls “Squad Mode.”

Wednesday's Google Doodle features a popcorn game where kernels compete to be the last one standing.

In solo mode, players can choose a kernel with special abilities and appearance. Each of them has different skills to dodge projectiles and avoid being hit by butter. Squad mode has the same functionality as Solo mode, but allows players to play together with friends.

Once the game begins, players have one mission: to survive. Use the arrow keys to move the cores around the board to avoid being hit. Pressing the spacebar activates the Kernel's special ability when there are projectiles nearby.
