Giants standout rookie WR Malik Nabers is out Thursday night with a concussion

A historic and brilliant start to Malik Nabers' rookie season was marred Thursday night when the New York Giants wide receiver suffered a concussion.

Nabers was ruled out just before the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys finally ended.

Nabers, attempting a diving catch on the sideline with 3:21 to play, went down hard and was slow to get back up. He then went to the locker room under his own power and was quickly excluded afterward.

It was a bad end to another great game for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. According to NFL Research, Nabers had 12 catches for 115 yards in the contest, becoming just the third rookie since the 1970 merger with double-digit catches and more than 100 yards in a prime-time game.

Nabers has now recorded 35 catches for 386 yards in his first four career games, joining Puka Nacua (39) and Anquan Boldin (30) as the third player in the Super Bowl era to record 30 or more catches in his first four games could.

Whether Nabers can come back and continue his remarkable start in Week 5 now needs to be decided.
