Accident causes gas leak in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A car crashed into a gas meter late Thursday night in north Lincoln.

First responders were called to 26th and W streets around 10:30 p.m.

According to Lincoln Fire & Rescue, they found a car on its side and a gas meter ripped from a home.

The driver was not injured, but LFR said the accident caused a leak in the home's gas supply line.

Emergency crews went into the home and an adjacent building but did not discover any gas.

Black Hills Energy responded to stop the leak.

Lincoln police have not said what caused the crash.
