Armed murder suspect captured after nine-hour standoff in Compton

A 24-year-old armed murder suspect was taken into custody early Thursday after a nine-hour standoff with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies in Compton.

Tyrone Dunn Jr. was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Deputy Daniel Dominguez told City News Service.

Investigators confirmed that Dunn is responsible for the Jan. 7 shooting of a man in the 12800 block of South San Pedro Street near El Segundo Boulevard in the unincorporated Willowbrook area, the department said.
