Motorcyclist critically injured in high-speed crash in South Durango, Warm Springs

The driver was critically injured in a collision with a motorcycle on Thursday afternoon.

Las Vegas police responded to a crash at South Durango and Warm Springs Road around 1:13 p.m.

According to police, witness statements and evidence at the scene indicated that a green Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling south on South Durango at a high rate of speed.

According to police, the motorcyclist is a 19-year-old man.

According to Las Vegas police, the driver of the Infinity is a 47-year-old man and the passenger is a 56-year-old woman.

A 2015 Infinity QX70 was also traveling south on South Durango, south of Warm Springs.

According to LVMPD, the Infinity turned left into a private driveway on the west side of the roadway when the motorcycle entered the private driveway.

According to police, the front of the Kawasaki struck the right side of the Infinity, causing the Infinity to spin and stop in the road.

The motorcyclist was ejected and thrown onto the road.

Emergency responders transported him to the UMC Trauma Center, where his condition was listed as critical.

Officials said the driver of the Infinity remained at the scene and was not impaired.

The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
