Machine Gun Kelly reveals a life-changing perspective that led him to embark on the journey of sobriety

Machine Gun Kelly shared insight into the transformative experiences that inspired him on his journey to sobriety.

In conversation with People Ahead of the People's Choice Country Awards, where he is both nominated and performing, artist-born Colson Baker revealed personal revelations that led him to make this significant change.

“I had to zoom out and look at myself from a holistic perspective,” he told the outlet on Thursday, September 26. “I was born on the 22nd. Twenty-two is a master number. What am I supposed to master here?” ? I had to ask myself that question.”

The Emo girl The singer reflected on the generational issues left to him by his now-deceased father.

That moment of revelation led MGK, who welcomed a daughter, Casie Colson Baker, with his ex Emma Cannon in 2009, to the realization that “my job is to be a good man.”

Expressing his understanding of personal growth, he stated, “I find comfort in knowing that I can punish myself today so that I can forgive myself tomorrow.”

“I have a daughter that I love with all my heart and would die for. I have a beautiful family, a wonderful circle of friends and a beautiful life to live for,” the rapper added. “And I’m no longer in the embarrassment of not noticing.”

In early August, during an appearance on Bunnie Xo's podcast stupid blonde, MGK, 34, revealed that he is “completely sober from everything.”
