Gassville man arrested after allegedly stealing a Gator from a Cotter resident

A Gassville man was arrested after allegedly stealing and damaging a vehicle. 61-year-old Danny Haley is charged with theft of property and criminal mischief.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Sept. 5, Cotter police responded to a theft report. The victim said he arrived at his property around 3:30 in the afternoon and noticed his 2019 John Deere Gator was missing around 5:00 p.m. He later drove to Haley's home in Gassville, where he discovered the gator in the backyard behind a shed, noting significant damage to the vehicle's door and roof.

The victim stated that Haley did not have permission to be on the victim's property or to take the John Deere Gator. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1,568.75.

Haley was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. He faces felony charges of theft of property and second-degree criminal assault. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
