Lafayette man confesses to murder the day after Thanksgiving 2022

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Patrick Norman admitted to killing Terry Robinson on November 25, 2022, in an alley between Green and Chestnut streets, west of First Street.

Norman, 42, pleaded guilty to murder on Sept. 20 and received a sentencing-enhancing charge of using a firearm in the crime.

Norman admitted killing Robinson, 52, in broad daylight next to a house on Green Street, which borders the alley that leads to Chestnut Street.

Other charges filed in Norman's murder case, including trafficking meth, will be dismissed, as will drug-related charges in an unrelated case, the plea agreement states.

A murder conviction can result in a prison sentence of 45 to 65 years, and the use of a firearms charge can add up to 20 years to Norman's sentence.

The plea agreement states that the minimum sentence will be 45 years in prison. Any sentence between 45 and 70 years can be served on probation or in prison.
