Kentucky high school football results, KHSAA updates Week 6

It's Week 6 of the high school football season in Kentucky, and the KHSAA schedule has been altered due to weather impacts expected Friday from the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

Some schools in the Louisville area opted to play tonight rather than wait until Friday.

The remnants of Hurricane Helene caused the following Friday night games to be postponed: Oldham County at Atherton, Ballard at Tates Creek, Butler at Southern, Fort Knox vs. DuBois (at Ballard), Frankfort at Fairdale and Male at PRP.

Lexington Christian 53, Shawnee 0

Saxton Howard rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Eagles (4-2) over the host Golden Eagles (0-6) in the Class 2A, District 4 opener for both teams.

Lexington Christian also received touchdown runs from Bennett Gudalis, Daven Hood, Mac Darland and Carter Penix.

Shawnee gained 39 yards on offense and committed three turnovers. Kyresse McAtee rushed for 20 yards on four carries.

Grayson County 28, Bullitt Central 16

Kadin Hanshaw rushed for three touchdowns to give host Grayson County (5-1) a lead over Bullitt Central (1-5) in a Class 5A, District 4 battle.

Kolby Chaffins added a 1-yard touchdown run for Grayson County.

Bullitt Central's AJ Lee threw touchdown passes to Nate Tomes and Rylan Morris.

Scott County 41, Collins 23

The Cardinals (3-3) outscored the host Titans 13-0 in the second half to secure the Class 5A, District Five victory.

Scott County managed 279 rushing yards and got rushing touchdowns from Ali Hamdiyah, Jackson Damron, Kayne Garrett and Timmy Emongo. The Cardinals also scored on a blocked punt return by Damron and an 82-yard kickoff return by Emongo.

Collins quarterback Kade Goodin completed 25 of 49 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns and was intercepted three times. Goodin also rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Logan Huelsman was Collins' top receiver with seven catches for 72 yards. DaJari Hardy and Jason Consequently had touchdown catches for the Titans (3-3).

Lafayette 16, Moore 6

Ransom Payton passed for 98 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for the score to give the Generals (3-3) the lead over the host Mustangs (2-3).

Payton had a 3-yard touchdown run with four seconds left in the first half and threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Grantz to give Lafayette a 16-6 lead with 11:03 left.

Javis Wallace returned the first kickoff of the second half 98 yards for a touchdown, bringing Moore within 9-6.

Moore managed 84 yards on offense.

Franklin County 1, Shelby County 0

The Rockets (0-6) lost their Class 4A, District Four game to the host Flyers (5-0).

On Wednesday, Shelby County announced that head coach Josh Jaggers had resigned due to health reasons. Jaggers was in his first season coaching the Rockets.

George Eskridge has been named interim coach of Shelby County. Eskridge previously served as an assistant coach at Campbellsville University and with the Louisville Fire Arena football team.

Eskridge, a product of the University of Louisville, also served as an assistant coach at the high school level at Eastern and North Hardin.

St. Xavier athletics director Denny Williams said St. X is the home team for the neutral site game.

Williams said the schools considered moving the game to Saturday, but L&N Stadium would not be available then.

Thirteen games that were scheduled to be played in the Louisville area on Friday night have been postponed until today. See the list of games below.
