Police – NBC 6 South Florida

A man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly threw two Molotov cocktails at a Hollywood store.

Chiu Lee Moy, 59, is charged with second-degree arson and throwing an explosive after allegedly damaging the Broadwalk Restaurant on two separate occasions.

According to a heavily redacted police report, the suspect first threw a lit glass Bud Light bottle into the restaurant around 4:50 a.m. on June 24

The owner called police that morning and reported that “the fire damaged a yellow mop bucket and a small pipe near the west rear door of the business,” the report continued.

Then on August 13, the suspect allegedly returned to The Broadwalk restaurant and threw a Molotov cocktail, also from a Bud Light glass bottle, into the back of the establishment. It was not initially clear what damage was caused.

Police said video surveillance, Moy's cell phone and license plate data, and motis operandi gave them probable cause for his arrest.

Additionally, the report states, “It should be noted that another Molotov cocktail was thrown at the front of a residence approximately one block from the registered suspect's address.” Moy will not be charged in this incident.

Further details were not immediately available because they were redacted from the report.
