Teen arrested in connection with theft at BevMo in Visalia

According to police, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday for breaking into a stolen car.

According to Visalia police, patrol officers responded to a burglary alarm at BevMo in the 3800 block of South Mooney just after 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to VPD, officers arrived at the scene and discovered the front glass door was broken and several bottles of alcohol were missing.

Police said surveillance footage showed three people breaking into a white Hyundai and stealing the alcohol.

At 5:15 a.m., patrol officers were called to a suspicious white Hyundai Sonata in the area of ​​Court and Paradise.

Police said they found a 16-year-old boy in the area.

The VPD Property Crimes Unit investigated and determined that the juvenile had stolen the Hyundai and used it in the burglary.

Police confiscated several bottles of alcohol from his home and returned them to the store.
