Ringo Starr cancels remaining tour dates at short notice due to illness

A music legend canceled the last two concerts of his tour at short notice due to illness.

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band canceled their shows scheduled for Tuesday in Philadelphia and Wednesday in New York City after bandleader Ringo Starr became ill. Ticket holders can receive a refund upon purchase.

“Ringo had a cold and after consulting with a doctor, he was advised to cancel the two remaining shows and rest,” a statement said. “As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon.”

According to Rolling Stone, Starr was on tour to promote his new solo EP “Crooked Perry,” a collaboration with songwriter Linda Perry. He and his All Starr Band played a spring tour and a residency in Las Vegas, as well as a fall tour that began earlier this month.

Starr, 84, is best known as a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer who was a member of the Beatles along with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Starr famously sang lead vocals on songs such as “Yellow Submarine,” “Octopus's Garden” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.”

As a solo artist, Starr performs a mix of Beatles songs, solo originals and covers with a rotating cast of All Starr musicians. Starr's previous stops in upstate New York include a concert at CMAC in Canandaigua in 2022 and a show at the then-Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse in 2016.
