Four injured in rollover crash in Freeport on I-295; The driver's license was revoked

FREEPORT (WGME) – Four people were injured in a rollover crash on I-295 in Freeport on Friday, according to authorities.

According to Maine State Police, a 29-year-old South Portland man was driving a GMC work van with four passengers when the driver left the road for an unknown reason, struck the intersection, rolled over, and entered a northbound lane on I -295 stalled in Freeport.

The driver and three of his passengers were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life-threatening injuries.

The work truck contained construction tools and equipment and the items were scattered across a lane and the median.

According to police, the driver was driving the vehicle with a suspended license.

One northbound lane was closed for about two hours Friday morning. It has now reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.

It is not yet known whether charges will be brought against the driver.
