Trio accused of shooting at police officers during chase in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale police on Friday identified three men accused of shooting at officers during a chase.

The Fort Lauderdale police suspects arrested Thursday were Robert Lee Earl Scott, Myron Sinclair and Devontay Drake Mayes, who were in the same car together when the pursuit began along Northwest Third Avenue and ended at Northwest Ninth Avenue and Sixth Street.

Broward Sheriff's Office corrections officers have charged Scott, 20; Sinclair, 23; and Mayes, 20; on Thursday at the Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale. Inmate records show they remained behind bars without bail for armed robbery and three counts of attempted murder.

Scott, Sinclair and Mayes were also charged with discharging a firearm in public; Throwing a missile into a dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft; criminal mischief, fleeing and eluding police, nonviolent resistance to an officer.

Sinclair, who drove the getaway car, was also charged with driving with a suspended license and fleeing without regard for the safety of persons or property.
