Jackson man arrested in connection with Cape Girardeau shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A Jackson man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Cape Girardeau.

Jac'quez Jackson, 26, of Jackson, was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to Cape Girardeau Police, around 8:45 a.m. on August 19, they responded to the 200 block of South Pacific for a report of shots fired.

Officers spoke with two victims who told them they were in the front yard when they saw two men on the property, one of whom was identified as Jackson.

One victim asked Jackson and the other man to leave. The victims told police that the two men were walking away when Jackson turned around, pulled out a gun and walked toward them.

Jackson is said to have shot the victims. He and the other man fled before police arrived.

An arrest warrant was issued for Jackson on August 19th.

Officers found him at a home in the 700 block of William Street around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26.

Jackson was arrested and taken to Cape Girardeau Police Department on outstanding warrants. He is being held without bail on a warrant.
