Virginia fugitive arrested in Bertie County

A multi-law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a Virginia fugitive in Bertie County on Monday, September 23rd.

On Monday, agents with the Down East Drug and Violent Crime Force were contacted by the NCSBI Fugitive Task Force for assistance in locating Quashon Morgan, 19, of Norfolk.

According to officials, Morgan was wanted by Virginia authorities on charges of committing a terrorist attack, brandishing a firearm and reckless handling of a firearm on the campus of Old Dominion University.

Morgan was believed to be staying at a residence on Tony's Lane outside Windsor. Authorities located Morgan and he was arrested without incident Monday at 1:13 p.m.

Morgan was served with a fugitive warrant and is being held at the Bertie Martin Regional Jail under no bond while awaiting extradition to Virginia.

The Down East Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is made up of agents from Hertford, Northampton, Ahoskie and Bertie.
