Jasper County, IN – The Jasper County Sheriff's Office has released body camera footage from a September 8th incident involving 26-year-old Rhyker Earl. Officers responded to a request for assistance at Earl's home after he suffered a medical emergency. Responding EMTs reported Earl's mental difficulties and physical resistance to seeking help.

The videos were released for release following an investigation by Indiana State Police. The sheriff's office released four body camera videos: three unedited clips from various officers and one video compiling the footage. During the encounter, officers' cameras were sometimes inactive or located outside the home.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputies' job was to prevent Earl from injuring himself or emergency responders while medical aid was provided. The department emphasized that it draws no conclusions about the actions of those involved. The ongoing investigation will determine any possible findings.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office thanked the Indiana State Police for allowing the footage to be released even though the investigation was ongoing.
