The fatal crash is the fourth death on Boulder roads this year

Early on the morning of Friday, September 27, a driver traveling north on Broadway struck and killed a woman near the crosswalk on Rayleigh Road in South Boulder. Officers received the call at 4:58 a.m. and the woman, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers. She was 38.

Boulder police said there was no initial indication that speed or impairment played a role in the crash. The crash is under investigation.

Further circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. It happened near a crosswalk that spans six lanes of traffic. The speed limit on this section of Broadway is 40 miles per hour.
