Maysville man arrested with 69 grams of fentanyl, guns and cash

A Maysville man was arrested Thursday after a search warrant led to the seizure of more than 69 grams of fentanyl.

The arrest was part of a joint operation by the Jones County Sheriff's Office and the Carteret County Sheriff's Office and resulted in the arrest of Maurio L. Brock, 38, of Maysville.

The search warrant was executed on Thursday, September 26th.

According to officers, investigators were able to make numerous undercover purchases from Brock during the investigation, culminating in the execution of a search warrant on his residence. Jones County and Carteret County deputies, along with Maysville police, executed a search warrant at 810 Main Street in Maysville. Officers encountered Mr. Brock inside the apartment and a search of the apartment led to the seizure of the following items:

  • 69.76 grams of fentanyl
  • 4.8 ounces of marijuana
  • 1 pistol
  • 1 shotgun
  • 1 explosive device
  • $20,290.43 in US currency
  • 558 grams of an unknown substance sent to the crime lab for testing

Brock was accused of:

  • Manufacturing a Schedule II Controlled Substance – Felony
  • Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Controlled Substances – Felony
  • Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for Controlled Substances – Felony
  • Trafficking in Opium or Heroin – Felony (2 counts)
  • Possession of a weapon of mass destruction – felony

Maurio Brock was lodged in the Jones County Detention Center under a $1,250,000.00 secured bond.
