TS Eliot Lecture with Ralph Fiennes | The Journal of Music

The Abbey Theater has announced that the TS Eliot Lecture 2024 will take place on December 15, 2024. Organized in collaboration with the TS Eliot Estate, this is the ninth lecture in the series celebrating TS Eliot's lasting influence on modern literature.

At this year's event, actor Ralph Fiennes will give a reading of Eliot's Four Quartets. The reading coincides with the 80th anniversary of the poem's first publication as a single volume in 1944. Following the reading, Fiennes will lead a discussion with actress Ingrid Craigie, exploring his relationship to the poem, the dynamics of performing poetry, and the interpretive challenges artists face.

The evening will be introduced by Catherine Heaney.
