A murder defendant was removed from court after a young Black man attempted to attack him in a hearing before D.C. Superior Court Judge Anthony Epstein on September 27.

Guy Johnson, 57, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder with an armed weapon, assault with intent to kill with an armed weapon, two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction for his alleged involvement in the killing of 28-year-old Kriston Robinson.

The incident occurred on March 25, 2020 in the 1600 block of 19th Street, SE.

Johnson's defense attorney, Kevin Mosley, requested that the pre-trial hearing be moved earlier before an unknown young black man ran up to the defense table and attempted to attack the defendant.

The attacker was removed from the courtroom by U.S. Marshals.

The defense told the court that this was not the first time this person had tried to attack the defendant and requested that the prosecution identify the person and exclude him from future hearings in the case.

The prosecutor's office said the office had no information about the person. U.S. Marshals will assist in identifying the suspect

The status hearing has been postponed until October 1st.
