Driving under the influence and manslaughter after fatal crash in Livingston County

LIVINGSTON COUNTY (25News Now) – A Chatsworth man has been charged in connection with a serious crash that killed one man in late August.

The Livingston County District Attorney's Office has charged 22-year-old Patrick McGreal with two counts of aggravated drunken driving resulting in death and one count of involuntary manslaughter.

The accident occurred around 3 a.m. Friday, August 30, at U.S. Route 24 and 3350 East Road near Chatsworth.

Authorities said McGreal was the driver of a pickup truck that failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by the tractor-trailer, which overturned and caught fire.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Bailey Beyers, 28, of rural Forrest, was killed. According to state police, the driver of the pickup was injured and taken by helicopter to an area hospital.

In addition to the felonies, McGreal was also charged with failure to stop sign and driving without insurance, according to court records.

McGreal was ordered to appear in Livingston District Court on Thursday, November 14th.
