Jordan Love injury update: Green Bay Packers name quarterback

The Green Bay Packers on Friday listed quarterback Jordan love as questionable against the Minnesota Vikings. They also listed cornerback Jaire Alexander as questionable.

Due to an MCL strain, Love has practiced as a limited participant every day this week. He suffered the injury in the Packers' Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Before leaving the game, Love completed 17 of 34 pass attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception.

The Packers are 2-0 since Love's injury. Malik Willis started both games in Love's place. In his two starts, Willis has recorded 324 passing yards and two scores while throwing zero interceptions. If Love can't play against the Vikings on Sunday, the Packers should feel comfortable with Willis behind center.

Nonetheless, Love is working as hard as he can to get back on the field. Earlier this week, the fifth-year QB revealed his status.

“We’re definitely building it up,” Love said of his workload. “I'm trying to push it forward and I tried to come back as quickly as possible no matter who the opponent was.”

Appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” ESPN's Adam Schefter provided further insight into Jordan Love's upcoming return.

“My guess and feeling is that we'll get Love, but I think they just want to see how he gets through the week,” Schefter said. “You want to see how his knee reacts.

“Matt LaFleur said yesterday that they're ready to address this by the time the game starts because there's really no benefit to them saying now, 'Okay, okay, Jordan looks and feels great and he's in the.' Starting XI.' They just won’t do that,” Schefter said. “Part of it is game spirit and part of it is that with the conservative training staff they have, they want to make sure he can play on Sunday.”

The Packers will face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on CBS.
