4. Witness the majestic bugle of a bull elk in Estes Park

Head to Estes Park and get a front-row seat as the elk show off their best on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. 5. Welcome fall to Cañon City's annual Harvest Festival

Holy Cross Abbey Winery will host the 22nd annual Harvest Festival this weekend, bringing together wine, crafts, food and entertainment to celebrate the start of the harvest season. It takes place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the winery grounds at 3011 EUS 50 in Cañon City. The event is free, but the wine tasting costs $12. If you're looking to get out of town to explore something new, head to Fruita on Colorado's Western Slope to celebrate the arrival of fall at the Fruita Fall Festival. 7. Do you love films and want to take a step back into history? Attend the Denver Silent Film Festival

Immerse yourself in a bygone era of film at the 2024 Denver Silent Film Festival, Saturday through Sunday. Denver Film raises the curtain as silent film era masterpieces and newly restored discoveries are shown on the big screen with live musical performances. Tickets start at $15 for the general public.
